Percocet 10/325 is a fairly strong dose as far as Percocet goes--5/325 is the most common--but there are many other stronger meds. Yes, it can.
Others have reported successful pain management with both Lyrica and Gabapentin, but with excessive weight gain reported on both. I'm trying to lose weight, not gain it. It's taken me 17 weeks to lose 20 lbs.
My initial dose was 5/325 four times a day. It definiy eased the pain and so I tapered off to 3/day and now am taking one in the morning and one at night. I tried taking only 2 at night, but couldn't sleep. For now, this current system seems to be working fine, but, as it is a narcotic, I'm afraid of becoming addicted.

Now, the pain is from fibro, and two other kinds of arthritis. I'm considering stopping the Percocet compley so that my pain level can be correctly assessed again.
I'm on Percocet now and have been for a few months. I have fibromyalgia, but got away with taking a couple of extra strength Advil a couple of times a day until my diagnosis with both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis last fall.
Is there something out there that controls pain, is non-addictive and won't cause weight gain?
I'm not a police officer, but something close- a high school teacher (retired).
