The examiners' report says oxycodone caused 1,185 state deaths in in their systems, and were often mixed with illicit drugs and alcohol.

As oxycodone abuse, addiction and deaths soared across the state, prescription drug deaths, and demand for more Florida detox facilities to treat prescription drugs, also continued to rise.

Coles overdosed on a combination of alcohol, opiate Oxycodone and the sleep prescription drug Ambien, according to the report. His blood.

He was found lying in bed, wearing a black tuxedo complete with cufflinks, a white tie, black socks but no shoes, a watch and his wedding ring. Coles, 48, was found in the master bedroom of his home in the Arcadia-area of Phoenix during the afternoon of Monday, June 2. There was also a copy of an with a Shakespeare quote found on the bed. He had a cardboard picture of his wife Ashley Coles next to him.

The last Ashley heard from Coles, according to the police report, was via a few text messages sent late Sunday night.

An oxycodone postmortem database was created from 1243 solicited cases from Medical Examiner and Coroner (ME/C) offices in 23 states in the United States over the period from August 27, 1999, through January 17, 2002. The request for cases was specific to only those cases in which the ME/C opined that the death involved oxycodone. Each case was evaluated to determine the role of oxycodone and the specific drug product OxyContin tablets in the death.

Blabbermouth got their hands on the report, which lists the official cause of death as “mixed prescription drug (oxycodone, hydromorphone, alprazolam) with alcohol toxicity, hours, due to chronic prescription drug and alcohol abuse, years.” The “manner of death” is given as “natural.” The report states the following:

The late Static-X frontman’s press team and widow Tera Wray has since spoken out saying the death was not drug related. However, a copy of the official coroner’s report reveals that Static died after mixing a cocktail of Xanax and other powerful prescription drugs with alcohol. It’s been over five months since the sudden death of Wayne Static.
